Military reservists made an essential contribution to strengthening Romania’s position inside the North Atlantic Alliance, representing the country with honour and professionalism in missions in war zones and crisis areas, together with allies and partners, President Nicusor Dan said on Saturday, May 31, Day of the Military Reservists.

„On the occasion of the Day of the Military Reservists, our thoughts of appreciation go to those who, throughout their military career, have served the country with devotion and loyalty under the colours of the national flag. I also thank the volunteer reserves, an important component of the national military reserve, who, if necessary, can participate in the joint effort to defend the country. The military reservists had an essential contribution to strengthening Romania’s position inside the North Atlantic Alliance, representing the country with honour and professionalism in missions in war zones and crisis areas, together with allies and partners,” said Dan.

According to the president, through the „exemplary” way in which they did their duty, the military reservists contributed significantly to an increase in the Army’s prestige, as well as to the promotion of Romania’s image internationally.

Military reservists and retiring military will remain landmarks of inspiration for the active military, as well as for the younger generations, added Dan.

„I wish the reservists and retiring soldiers to keep their verticality, the moral and national values that guided them in their careers and to make their knowledge and experience available when their skills are needed. (…) Happy Day of the Military Reservists to all the military reservists, health and joy alongside your families and loved ones!” the president said.
