Romania’s President Nicusor Dan on Thursday sent a social media message on the commemoration of the November 2015 Paris terrorist attacks in which he underscored the need for unity in the face of hate attacks.
„Today we commemorate 10 years since the tragic attacks on the Bataclan, the Stade de France and on the Parisian terraces. We mourn with France. Our thoughts turn to the victims, to their families and to all those whose lives have been mourned. It is essential that we work together to build safer and more tolerant societies. Together we remain united in the face of hatred.”
The Eiffel Tower, Paris City Hall and the Statue of the Republic were illuminated on Wednesday evening in blue, white and red, the colours of the French flag, as a tribute to the victims of the jihadist attacks of November 13, 2015.
This symbolic illumination was to be repeated on Thursday to commemorate ten years since the worst attacks on French soil since WWII that resulted in 132 deaths, in addition to two people who took their lives due to post-traumatic stress, hundreds of injured and thousands of traumatised people.
