President-elect Nicusor Dan said on Thursday that immediately after taking office he will hold preliminary discussions with the parties on the formation of the Government, the governing programme and the deficit.
On Monday I will take the oath in the plenary session of Parliament, when I take office, and immediately after that, we will have preliminary discussions on the formation of the Government, the government programme and especially how to deal with the deficit,’ said Nicusor Dan, after attending the solemn session of the Constitutional Court of Romania for the confirmation and validation of the results of the presidential elections.
He was asked about the time frame for the formation of the executive.
„I think that it is good that all things should be decided in advance in order not to have tensions within the Government afterwards. I would like for as many aspects of the government programme as possible to be established between the parties, so I wouldn’t want us to rush with the formation of the government, we should take 3-4 weeks,” the president-elect said.
