President-elect Nicusor Dan takes the oath of office before Parliament plenum

President-elect of Romania, Nicusor Dan, took the oath of office on Monday in front of the plenum of Parliament.

„I swear to devote all my power and skill to the spiritual and material prosperity of the Romanian people, to observe the Constitution and the laws of the country, to defend democracy, the fundamental rights and freedoms of citizens, the sovereignty, independence, unity and territorial integrity of Romania. So help me God!” – said Nicusor Dan, in the plenary session of Parliament, after the singing of the national anthem and after the president of the Constitutional Court, Marian Enache, presented the decision validating the result of the presidential elections.

He swore with his right hand on the Bible and the Constitution.
