President Iohannis meets North Macedonia’s Pendarovski at Paris Peace Forum

Romania’s President Klaus Iohannis on Friday met his counterpart from North Macedonia Stevo Pendarovski on the sidelines of the Paris Peace Forum at Brongniart Palace, according to Agerpres.

According to the Presidential Administration, Iohannis appreciated the excellent relations between the two countries as well as their development prospects, encouraging the continuation of an intensified bilateral dialogue of the recent years with emphasis on business and investment.

Iohannis reconfirmed Romania’s firm support for the European path of North Macedonia, welcoming the recent opening of the accession negotiations with the European Union.

„The President of Romania showed that Romania is ready to share its experience with joining the European Union, including by providing expertise in technical, specialised fields, such as emergency management and civil protection.”

Pendarovski thanked Romania for constant support to North Macedonia on the latter’s European journey, as well as for excellent collaboration inside NATO between the two allies.

Iohannis is participating in the 5th edition of the Paris Peace Forum, November 11-12, at Brongniart Palace.
