President Iohannis: Romania will continue to offer Moldova strategic support on all levels

Published on

Romania will continue to offer the Republic of Moldova with strategic support on all levels, President Klaus Iohannis said on Tuesday on the occasion of the neighbouring country’s Independence Day, adding that Moldova is part of the „great European family.”

„I am sending congratulations to the citizens of the Republic of Moldova on Independence Day! You are part of the great European family, and the continuation of the current efforts will turn the accession to the European Union into an achieved goal. Romania will continue to offer the Republic of Moldova strategic support on all levels,” the Romanian head of state wrote on the X platform.

The Independence Day is the national day of the Republic of Moldova, celebrating the adoption of the Declaration of Independence from the Soviet Union in 1991. On this occasion, Moldovan President Maia Sandu distributed a special video message on her official Facebook page.
