President Iohannis to attend Francophonie Summit in France on Friday and Saturday

Published on

President Klaus Iohannis will participate, on Friday and Saturday, in the Francophonie Summit, which will take place in France, the Presidential Administration said in a press release.

The Romanian president’s participation in the XIXth conference of the Francophonie Summit, which will be held under the title „Create, innovate and do business in French”, is an opportunity to highlight our country’s contribution to the global effort to transform and adapt multilateralism, an effort that also concerns the OIF, in a context marked by major challenges to the rules-based international order, informs the source.

”Romania will promote its own priorities with regard to the political and security situation in the French-speaking world, as reflected in the resolution to be adopted at the meeting,” says the Presidential Administration.

In the context of the Francophonie Summit, President Iohannis will take part in a round table on the integration of young French-speakers in the labour market and in a debate on political priorities in the francophone area. Klaus Iohannis will plead for the strengthening of academic and scientific Francophonie, which represents one of the major contributions of our country at the level of the organisation, in favour of educational and professional mobility of young French speakers throughout the Francophone area, the release further reads.
