President Zelensky thanks Romanian counterpart: Ukraine values Romania’s vital deliveries of defensive equipment

Published on

Ukraine truly appreciates Romania’s „vital” support and deliveries of defensive equipment, President Volodymyr Zelensky wrote on X, in reply to the congratulatory message received from Romanian President Nicusor Dan.

Ukraine’s president posted several messages of thanks to leaders who sent congratulations on Sunday, on his country’s Independence Day, also attaching images of the letters addressed to him by the respective political personalities on the occasion.

„I appreciate the kind and friendly congratulatory letter from President Nicusor Dan marking Ukraine’s Independence Day. Ukraine and Romania face common security challenges in our region, and we are working hand in glove to counter them. Ukraine genuinely values Romania’s support and vital deliveries of defensive equipment that help protect our cities and communities. Together, we are working to bring durable peace,” Zelensky wrote on X.

In the letter to the leader in Kyiv, President Nicusor Dan said that „Romania will continue to be a firm and predictable partner for Ukraine, both in terms of security cooperation and further, in the process of European reconstruction and integration”, and that our country will also continue to provide „comprehensive support” to the neighboring country regarding its EU bid.

The Romanian head of state assured Zelensky that our country will continue to participate in the operationalization of the Alliance’s decisions in the coming period.

President Nicusor Dan also sent a video message in English, on Sunday, on the occasion of Ukraine’s Independence Day.
