The Permanent Electoral Authority (AEP) informs that the computerized draws will be held on Friday, April 4, to appoint the presidents of the electoral bureaux of the polling stations in the country and their alternates.
According to the electoral legislation, the presidents of the polling stations and their alternates are appointed by the AEP in a public meeting, announced 48 hours in advance, according to a press release sent to AGERPRES on Wednesday.
The appointment is carried out by computerized random draw, organized at county level, respectively at the level of Bucharest municipality.
The appointment of the presidents of the electoral bureaux of the polling stations and their alternates shall be made no later than 15 days before the voting date, from among persons registered in the Romanian Electoral Experts’ Body, with domicile or residence in the respective county, based on the criteria of proximity of domicile or residence to the polling station, as well as on the criterion of completed studies.
Priority will be given to graduates of university degree programs in the field of legal sciences and then to graduates of bachelor’s degree programs, the source said.
„The results of the computerized random draw shall be recorded in minutes that shall be made public by posting them on the website of the Permanent Electoral Authority, www.roaep.ro, in the section of the Electoral Experts’ Body, respectively at the headquarters of the county electoral offices and at the headquarters of the sector electoral offices of Bucharest and on their websites,” the release said.
The Electoral Experts’ Body is „the permanent list of persons who may become chairpersons of the electoral bureaus of the polling stations or their representatives, established, managed and updated by the Permanent Electoral Authority”, according to the provisions of Law 208/2015.
