Around 50.000 voters cast their ballot in the second round of the presidential election, at polling stations abroad by Friday, 1:00 PM (Romanian time), according to real-time data provided by the Permanent Electoral Authority (AEP).
According to AEP, 49,559 Romanian citizens voted in person from the opening of the polls on Thursday evening at 10:00 PM (Romanian time) until Friday at 1:00 PM.
Additionally, 3,139 voters cast their ballots by mail, bringing the total number of votes cast abroad to 52,698.
The countries with the highest number of Romanian voters were: the Republic of Moldova – 11,324, Italy – 7,148, the United Kingdom – 6,162, Spain – 5,687, Germany – 5,597.

Voting in the diaspora for the presidential elections is taking place over three days, from Friday to Sunday:
*Friday, May 16, from 7:00 AM to 9:00 PM (local time);
*Saturday, May 17, from 7:00 AM to 9:00 PM (local time);
*Sunday, May 18, from 7:00 AM (local time) to 9:00 PM (Romanian time).
Romanian citizens who are abroad on the day of the election can cast their ballot at the 965 polling stations abroad organized for this year’s presidential elections, regardless of whether they have a residence or domicile abroad.
