Acting president Ilie Bolojan on Thursday stated that the correct way in which the presidential elections were organized, the high turnout and the difference in votes show Romania’s capacity to organize free and fair elections and that it is a democratic state, which ensures the freedoms of its citizens.
Bolojan participated in the solemn session held at the Constitutional Court that confirmed and validated the result of the presidential elections.
„It is an honour to participate in this public session of the Court and I have a personal satisfaction that we are completing democratically an electoral cycle that we should have closed last year. But these elections, through the correct way in which they were organized, through the high presence of Romanians at the polls, through the difference in votes, show the capacity of our country to organize free and fair elections and the fact that we are a democratic state, which ensures the freedoms of citizens,” said Ilie Bolojan.
He wished the president-elect, Nicusor Dan, much success.
„It is a new beginning, a beginning of trust, a beginning of hope and a greater beginning of prosperity and I wish much success in this honourable position to Mr. President Nicusor Dan and I hope we hear of good things for our country. May God protect Romania and all Romanians, wherever they may be!” concluded Bolojan.
