Prime Minister Ciolacu in Paris: What I would like from the next Prime Minister is to have a multiannual budget, for all 4 years, based on the European Commission budget system

Prime Minister Marcel Ciolacu said in Paris that what he wants from the next Prime Minister is to have a multiannual budget for all four years, based on the European Commission’s budget system.

  • Romania’s number one priority at the moment is to cover investments in infrastructure, through European funds and the PNRR, the Prime Minister announced.

„There are a lot of French companies interested in this process, France is very involved in this security crisis, with troops and command, as a framework country in Romania, and it is very important to have a more applied view of what we want for the Romanian army’s equipment.

It is not yet a necessity (the plan to increase the defense budget to 3% of GDP). Romania’s number one priority at the moment is to cover investments in infrastructure, through European funds and through the PNRR.

You have seen a new approach, and with a direct loan from the US government.

After the gesture made by Romania, with the donation of a Patriot system, several countries have already come to Romania’s aid to cover that amount.

We are out of that circle and we have a much better approach.

What I want from the next prime minister is to have a multi-year budget, for all four years, based on the European Commission’s budget system.”
