Prime minister Nicolae Ciuca conveyed on Wednesday to the representatives of the Romanian community in Korea his appreciation for the way in which they managed to integrate themselves into this society, while keeping their identity, language, culture and the values of the native country close to their hearts, according to Agerpres.
The meeting took place at the headquarters of the Romanian Embassy in Seoul, on the occasion of the prime minister’s visit to the Republic of Korea.
„I was particularly moved to meet, thousands of kilometers away from the country, Romanians who study, live and work in the Republic of Korea. I was happy to see their desire to remain in close contact with their families in the country and to stay informed about everything that happens in Romania. I conveyed my appreciation for the way they managed to integrate themselves into South Korean society, in a very different culture, but keeping their Romanian identity, language, culture and values close to their hearts,” said Ciuca, according to a post on the government’s Facebook page.
He voiced his confidence that the dialogue with the authorities in Seoul will lead to the development of bilateral collaboration both in the political and economic fields, as well as in those of culture, education and youth, and the Romanian community in the Republic of Korea will make a significant contribution.
„I used this opportunity to wish them directly blessed holidays and to tell them that we are waiting for them at home, in Romania, either to visit or to return to the country where they were born,” added Nicolae Ciuca.
Prime minister Nicolae Ciuca is making an official visit to the Republic of Korea this week, together with a parliamentary delegation led by the speaker of the Chamber of Deputies, Marcel Ciolacu.
