The Social Democratic Party (PSD) – National Liberal Party (PNL) Electoral Alliance obtained 48.57% of the votes in the European parliamentary elections, the Alliance for the Union of Romanians (AUR) – 14.93%, and the United Right Alliance Save Romania Union (USR) – People’s Movement Party (PMP) – Forta Dreptei – 8.7%, according to the provisional results presented on Wednesday night by the Central Electoral Bureau (BEC).
BEC spokeswoman, Anamaria Revnic-Calugarita, announced that, regarding the results for the election of members from Romania to the European Parliament, following the centralization of 99.95% of the total of 19,870 polling stations organized in the country and abroad, the degree of participation in voting was 52.41%, and the total number of valid votes cast was 8,935,988.
According to the centralized data, the situation of the votes in the European parliamentary election is presented as follows:
*The Electoral Alliance PSD PNL obtained 48.57% (4,339,771 votes);
*AUR obtained 14.93% (1,334,177 votes);
*The United Right Alliance USR-PMP-Forta Dreptei obtained 8.7% (777,519 votes);
*The Hungarian Democratic Union from Romania UDMR obtained 6.48% (579,142 votes);
*The S.O.S. Romania party obtained 5.03% (449,818 votes);
*The Renew Romania’s European project party obtained 3.74% (333,852 votes);
*Stefanuta Nicolae-Bogdanel, independent candidate, obtained 3.08% (275,341 votes).
The spokeswoman of the BEC specified that the votes were centralized for all 915 polling stations from abroad, the total number of valid votes cast being 210,410 of which:
*The Electoral Alliance PSD PNL obtained 21.35% (44,925 votes);
*USR-PMP-Forta Dretei United Right Alliance obtained 16.34% (34,373 votes);
*AUR obtained 14.65% (30,830 votes);
*The S.O.S. Romania party obtained 13.52% (28,457 votes);
*The Renew Romania’s European project party obtained 9.70% (20,418 votes);
*The United Diaspora Party obtained 7.05% (14,827 votes);
*Stefanuta Nicolae-Bogdanel, independent candidate obtained 5.90% (12,422 votes).
