Members, supporters, and those interested may pay their final respects to the Social Democratic Party’s (PSD) first president, Ion Iliescu, at the party’s headquarters, the Social Democrats announced.

The entry to the tribute event is allowed until 6:00 PM.

Furthermore, the PSD announced on Wednesday the launch of the film called „Ultima baricada” („The last barricade”), a production by „Avangarda, with Ionut Vulpescu,” as a sign of respect for the memory of former Romanian president and party leader Ion Iliescu.

The film features outstanding national and international figures from the political and cultural scene of the past century, depicting memories of Ion Iliescu’s personality.

Romania’s former President Ion Iliescu died on Tuesday at the age of 95. He is to be buried on Thursday at Ghencea III Cemetery.
