PSD’s Grindeanu: I have perfectly proper institutional relations with both President and PM

Published on

Social Democratic Party (PSD) interim chairman Sorin Grindeanu said that he has „perfectly proper” institutional relations with both President Nicusor Dan and Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan.

Grindeanu was asked on Sunday, during a programme on Antena 3, with whom he currently has a better political relationship – Nicusor Dan or Ilie Bolojan.

„That’s a question I find very difficult to answer, although it should be very easy. Everyone should get along with the president, since he is the president of all Romanians (…) but given our history and the experiences we have had in Romania, things don’t always work that way. I have proper, perfectly proper institutional relations with both of them,” said the Social Democrat leader.

Asked whether Nicusor Dan has what it takes to be a politician, the interim PSD leader replied: „Yes. Very much so. (…) The best example – it’s very difficult to be re-elected as mayor of Bucharest. From my point of view, it’s extremely difficult to win a second consecutive term. Then to come back, after a chaotic electoral year like 2024, and win the presidential election as an independent – that shows more than just the slogan ‘Honest Romania’, it also demonstrates political skill.” AGERPRES
