Romania exported cereals and cereal-based preparations worth 1.22 billion EUR in the first four months of 2024, 17.3% less than in the same period of the previous year, according to data centralized by the National Institute of Statistics (INS).
During the mentioned period, imports of cereals and cereal-based preparations totaled 531.3 million EUR (minus 21.2% compared to the first four months of 2023), resulting in a surplus in this segment of 688.7 million EUR.
According to INS, in the period January-April 2024, Romania exported wheat and meslin worth 486.09 million EUR and maize worth 481.652 million EUR.
