Many happy returns to all those who live with Romania in their hearts, head of the Department for Romanians Everywhere (DRP), Secretary of State Gheorghe Carciu wrote on Thursday in a message posted on the DRP Facebook page, according to Agerpres.

„Today, December 1, we celebrate Romania’s national day and our national anthem will be heard everywhere in the world where Romanians have chosen to work, live and study. In these emotion-filled moments our thoughts go to those who fought for us to stay united and who passed an important mission down to us, that of protecting our rights and freedoms and to proudly represent our country. Many happy returns to all those who live with Romania in their hearts! Let us be better and stronger every day, to rise up to the legacy left by our ancestors and the expectations of our descendants,” Gheorghe Carciu wrote.

He also thanked the Romanians who help the diaspora communities.

„Together, in this difficult year, we took important steps to support Romanians outside the country’s borders. The Department initiated a series of support programs with non-reimbursable financing and grants to promote the ethnic, cultural, religious and linguistic identity of Romanians in neighboring countries and from the diaspora, as well as for strengthening the ties between the homeland and Romanian communities abroad. For the next period we plan to develop an even greater number of projects to capitalize on the potential of Romanians everywhere and reconnect as many children and young people as possible with the motherland through the ARC camps. Many happy returns in peace, faith and harmony,” reads the message of the DRP head.
