Romania National Day / Speaker Ciolacu: We stand chance to fully accomplish our European dream, join Schengen

Published on

The hope of this nation lies in its children, Chamber of Deputies Speaker Marcel Ciolacu writes in his National Day message, affirming that „we have an extraordinary chance to fully accomplish our European dream and join Schengen”, Agerpres reports.

„The hope of this nation lies in its children! Delia, a wonderful 10-year-old girl, offered me today a tricolor brooch shaped like Romania, made with her own hands. I will wear it today with great pride, thinking of the energy of this generation that will take Romania where it deserves and belongs. Just like 104 years ago, when the generation of that time understood that only through unity we can fulfill our dream of living together in one country,” Ciolacu wrote on Facebook.

The current generation took over a country destroyed by communism and led it to the European Union and NATO, the Speaker goes on to note, adding that „we have an extraordinary chance to fully accomplish the European dream and join the Schengen Area.”

„It only depends on us! For Delia, for all the children of this nation, we too must stand united and overcome all the challenges we are subjected to by an illegal war right near our borders and all the overlapping crises it has caused. We have this duty, so that the future generation can build on a much more solid foundation! Many happy returns, Romania! Many happy returns, Romanians!,” Marcel Ciolacu concludes.
