Romania needs a right-wing vision, chairman the National Liberal Party (PNL) Nicolae Ciuca said on Wednesday at the presentation of his candidacy for the Romanian presidency.

„We are in a situation in which Romania has changed and is changing, the international situation has changed and we see that, unfortunately, it is changing more and more often, so we need a liberal vision able to manage all these economic and social challenges, challenges that affect democracy, we need to see and find solutions for the future of our children, for our security as a nation. As such, we come with a right-wing vision, Romania needs a right-wing vision and a person capable of implementing this vision,” Ciuca said at the Central Electoral Office, on the occasion of the submission of his candidacy for the presidential elections.

He pointed out that he relies heavily on the PNL, which this time also comes with a family, community and country project.

„I rely very much on the honor and faith of the Liberal people, of the right-wing people in this project. (…) PNL comes with a vision for a prosperous and secure Romania. Romania has the ability to ensure the security of its citizens – and here we are talking about economic security, social security, in communities, in schools, the security to start a business and, of course, the ability to face all external challenges. As such, I will be a responsible president, an involved, balanced president, who – as I have done all my life – will work together with the citizens of Romania, with the state institutions, in order to be able to face any challenges, but, above all, to be able to build a safer and better future for future generations,” Ciuca said.

According to the Liberal leader, 1,600,000 Romanians have signed for his presidential candidacy.
