Over 80 projects, with a total value of 99.67 million euro, of which 73 million euro were non-reimbursable funds, have been financed through the Romania – Republic of Moldova Joint Cooperation Programme 2014-2020, the Ministry of Development, Public Works and Administration (MDLPA) announced on Wednesday.

According to the quoted source, on Tuesday, the Joint Monitoring Committee meeting regarding the closure of the Romania – Republic of Moldova Joint Cooperation Programme was held online.

The review meeting aimed to present the implementation status of the programme and the results achieved by the end of the programme, by the Managing Authority.

The quoted source mentions that the Romania – Republic of Moldova Joint Cooperation Programme 2014-2020 financed 84 projects, with a total value of 99.67 million euro, of which 73 million euro were non-reimbursable funds.

„The projects targeted investments in areas such as education, health, culture, transportation, emergency situations, as well as exchanges of experience, joint training, and common plans and strategies for the partners from both participating states. Furthermore, due to the facilities provided by the European Commission through changes in the legal framework, additional funding was granted, specifically to support those high-performing projects that were affected by the increase in construction material prices and labor costs in the area,” the press release sent to AGERPRES reads.

As of the date of the meeting, 65.59 million euro had been paid to the beneficiaries, consisting of both pre-financing and final payments for projects that have already completed their activities. In the immediate future, as the documentation is reviewed, payments will also be made to the remaining beneficiaries.

The meeting was attended by representatives of the Managing Authority (MDLPA), the Joint Technical Secretariat (BRCT Iasi), local and regional authorities from the counties and oblasts included in the programme area, as well as representatives of the national authorities from both countries and European Commission representatives.
