The third meeting of the Romania-Republic of Moldova-Ukraine Trilateral at a foreign minister level will take place on Friday in Chisinau. Romanian Foreign Minister Luminita Odobescu, Moldovan Foreign Minister Mihai Popsoi and Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmitro Kuleba will discuss the three countries’ cooperation in the energy and infrastructure sectors, NewsMaker.md and MOLDPRES report.
„We are at the highest point of bilateral relations with both Kyiv and Bucharest. And this trilateral format helps us to synchronize in the context of regional cooperation,” Mihai Popsoi told Radio Moldova, quoted by NewsMaker.md.
The Romania-Moldova-Ukraine trilateral at the level of foreign ministers was launched in 2022, at the initiative of the then head of diplomacy in Bucharest, Bogdan Aurescu. This format is aimed at cooperation between the three neighboring countries in the context of the Russian invasion of Ukraine and the crises that Ukraine and Moldova are facing because of it.
The first meeting in this format took place on September 15, 2022, in Odessa, and the second – on April 13, 2023, in Bucharest.
