Romania will donate 100,000 books to the Republic of Moldova, announced, on Thursday evening, at the opening of the International Festival of Literature and Translation, the state secretary of the Department for Relations with the Republic of Moldova (DRRM), Adrian Dupu.

According to him, the books will arrive in the Republic of Moldova at the beginning of October, and will be distributed in all libraries in this country.

„In all these years, the Department and I have supported everything that means Romanian literature, reading in the Romanian language. (…) At the beginning of October, the DRRM will bring a donation of approximately 100,000 books for the libraries of the Republic of Moldova, which represents the biggest donation of books that Romania is suddenly making in the Republic of Moldova. Through this, we want to encourage reading,” said Dupu.

The International Festival of Literature and Translation – FILIT is organized for the second consecutive year in Chisinau, being an extension of the festival hosted for 11 years in Iasi.
