Romania will help earthquake-striken Syria with barracks, clothing, food products

The National Committee for Emergency Situations, summoned by premier Nicolae Ciuca on Thursday approved the granting of support to the Syrian Arab Republic, consisting of material goods – in several types of barracks products, clothing, but also food products, cans, the gov’t informs in a statement, according to Agerpres.

Given the situation generated by the earthquake produced on February 6 in Syria, respectively the request of the Syrian Arab Republic, through the European Civil Protection Mechanism, for the provision of international assistance, following the consultation with president Klaus Iohannis, prime minister Nicolae Ciuca convened, on Thursday, in a hybrid system, the National Committee for Emergency Situations (CNSU).

The aid, that will be made available by the National Administration of State Reserves and Special Issues, will consist of 6,000 canned vegetables, 100 tents, 400 beds, mattresses, blankets, sleeping bags, hats, quilted suits, gloves, boots, stockings, 200 lanterns, totaling 1,727,800 RON without VAT, respectively 2,042,882 RON with VAT.
