Romania’s ambassador to the United States of America, Andrei Muraru, had a meeting with American general Keith Kellogg, president Donald Trump’s special envoy for Ukraine, the Romanian embassy reported on its Facebook page on Monday.

Muraru addressed the prospect of resolving the war initiated by Russia against Ukraine and highlighted the comprehensive aid provided by Romania to the neighbouring country, according to the same source.

Muraru also emphasised Romania’s commitment to increase its defence budget and the need for deterrence and defence on the allied eastern flank, including through the permanent presence of US forces in Romania.

General Kellogg thanked for Romania’s role in the region and for the close cooperation with the US under the bilateral strategic partnership.
