Romanian Defense minister and Georgian ambassador discuss Black Sea region’s security situation

National Defense Minister Angel Tilvar met on Thursday with the new Georgian ambassador in Bucharest Tamar Beruchashvili, with whom he approached the security situation in the Black Sea region, the Defense Ministry informs in a release, according to Agerpres.

The agenda of the talks included the status of bilateral cooperation on defense, cooperation within the regional framework and within the NATO format, as well as an exchange of ideas regarding the security situation in the Black Sea region.

The Defense Minister „reiterated Romania’s commitment to further supporting Georgia both with its European path and in terms of allied cooperation, by contributing to the implementation of the Substantial NATO-Georgia Package.”

Also, Angel Tilvar highlighted the importance our country attaches to the regional initiative South-East Europe Defense Ministerial (SEDM) Process, 2023 being an important year for Romania, as it takes over the rotating chairmanship of this format.
