Romanian Defence Minister Angel Tilvar and his French counterpart Sebastien Lecornu on Thursday opened the headquarters of the Collective Defense Battle Group (CDBG) at Cincu, according to Agerpres.
In the morning, the Romanian and French officials toured the facilities of the Getica Combined National Training Centre at Cincu, an item on Lecornu’s Romanian visit schedule.
The opening of the CDBG headquarters was marked by the unveiling of an honorary plaque.
At France’s proposal to take over the role of the framework nation, the French battalion deployed in Romania, considered the spearhead of NATO’s Very High Readiness Joint Task Force (VJTF), is currently working on a Collective Defense Battle Group (CDBG) in Romania integrating, on a rotating basis, Belgium and the Netherlands.
A Romanian NATO battle group was established in May by transforming the NATO multinational components of the NATO Response Force deployed in Romania.
