Published on

The government on Wednesday approved Romania’s 2030 National Forestry Strategy, Minister of the Environment, Water and Forestry Tanczos Barna said Wednesday, adding that forest protection must be strengthened, according to Agerpres.

„This strategy is the outcome of a broad consultation, a public consultation that started in 2021, after a broad consultation of the civil society, of specialists in the field, a consultation led by the leading universities in Romania,” Tanczos said at the end of a government sitting.

He added that a platform was prepared on which this national strategy is based.

He said that, first of all, forest protection must be strengthened, as it is also necessary to ensure the wood resource for the public.

He also said that the hundreds of thousands of cargo checks on public roads help the state authorities carry out rigorous checks and catch those who break the law.
