Romanian Naval Forces, as observer in Aman 23 exercise organised by Pakistani Navy

The Romanian Naval Forces were present, as observers, at the 8th edition of the Aman 23 multinational exercise organized by their Pakistani counterparts, this month, in the Arabian Sea and the port of Karachi in Pakistan, informed, the General Staff of the Naval Forces (SMFN), according to Agerpres.

The two officers who represented our country at one of the largest multinational exercises in the Indian Ocean region were the head of the Training and Doctrine Office of the SMFN, commander Ciprian Mandachi, and the Chief of Staff of the Fleet Command, commander Marian Ioan.

At the Aman 23 exercise, held between February 10 and 14, 50 countries were present, with dozens of warships and aircraft, special operations forces, marines and a large number of foreign observers.

„The main goals of the drill were to develop cooperation between the participating navies to counter current maritime security challenges, as well as to improve interoperability between regional and partner navies at different levels of technological development,” says a press release sent by SMFN.
