Romanian poultry exporters now see a new international trading opportunity opening for them, following the grant of the veterinary certificate for the export of poultry products to Cuba, the National Veterinary and Food Safety Authority (ANSVSA) announced on Thursday.
„The official decision was sent to ANSVSA president Alexandru Bociu by the Embassy of the Republic of Cuba in Romania. The veterinary certificate was issued based on a Resolution of Cuba’s National Animal Health Center, after inspections carried out in Romania in October 2024. Thus, Romanian poultry breeding and processing units have been approved for export to the Cuban market,” a release informs on Thursday.
According to ANSVSA, the opening of the Cuban market represents a significant step for the Romanian poultry industry, contributing to the diversification of export markets and the consolidation of Romania’s position as a supplier of quality agri-food products.
„This opportunity offers Romanian producers the possibility to capitalize on high-quality poultry production on an important foreign market,” said the ANSVSA head.
In its turn, the Embassy of the Republic of Cuba reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining commercial relations based on the highest food safety and quality standards, and also expressed appreciation for the cooperation with the Romanian authorities.
