On Thursday, the gov’t adopted a draft law for the ratification of the Agreement between the Government of Romania and the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine regarding the mutual recognition of educational documents, write Agerpres.
The agreement, signed in August in Bucharest, will update the framework of the convention that currently regulates the mutual recognition of study documents and scientific titles. The convention dates back to 1999 and has not been modified since then, a press release sent on Thursday by the government reads.
The updates provide for the mutual recognition of study periods in pre-university education, as well as the recognition of bachelor’s degrees, bachelor’s and master’s degrees and any other university degrees with a duration of 5-6 years, issued in Romania, with the study degrees Specialist and Master’s degrees, issued in Ukraine.
„Through the adoption of the draft law and, subsequently, the ratification of the Agreement, the regulations in the field will be updated in relation to the European norms transposed into the national legislation and the legislative changes undertaken at the level of the national education systems in the two states, including the establishment of the National Framework of Qualifications,” the government’s press office says.
