Romania’s accession to Schengen, discussed by ForMin Aurescu, his Dutch counterpart Hoekstra

The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Bogdan Aurescu, discussed with Wopke Hoekstra, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, about the extremely positive reports regarding Romania’s access to the free space circulation, Agerpres reports.

The meeting took place on the sidelines of the Meeting of Foreign Ministers from NATO member states, which Aurescu hosted on Tuesday and Wednesday in Bucharest, according to a press release from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Minister Bogdan Aurescu referred to the extremely positive conclusions of the reports drawn up by European experts who participated in the two voluntary missions to evaluate the implementation of the Schengen acquis carried out in Romania in October and November, with an emphasis on the report of the last mission, at which also participated in the Netherlands at the expert level, expressing the hope that these evaluations, to which the recent positive CVM report is added, will materialize in the support by the Kingdom of the Netherlands of Romania’s accession decision to the Schengen Area.
