Romania’s Ana Barbosu on Saturday won the gold medal on floor and silver medal on beam at the 2025 European Artistic Gymnastics Championships in Leipzig, Germany.
In the floor final she got 13.833 points, ahead of Italy’s Manila Esposito’s 13.700, and Spain’s Alba Petisco’s 13.566.
Last time Romania won a European gold medal on floor was in 2020, when Larisa Iordache did so.
Barbosu, who had the second-best beam routine in the qualifications scoring 13.600 points, won the silver medal with 13.666 points, just behind Belgian Nina Derwael’s 14.033 points. Third came Italy’s Sofia Tonelli, with 13.633 points.
Romania’s previous silver beam medal was won at the 2024 European Championships by Sabrina Voinea.
Denisa Golgota, last in the qualifications with a routine that scored 13.300, also came in last in the final with 12.000.
Barbosu won all of Romania’s medals at the European Championships in Leipzig, gold on floor, silver on beam, all-around bronze and bronze on uneven bars.
