According to Government’s sources, quoted by ecopolitic.ro, next week the Government will issue an Emergency Ordinance regarding the establishment, organization and operation of the Romanian Agency for Foreign Investments and Export Promotion, as well as for the amendment of Government Emergency Ordinance no. 43/2017 on the establishment, organization and operation of agencies for SME’s, investment attraction and export promotion.
Through this takeover of all the foreign trade areas of Romania, as well as the area dedicated to foreign investments, in a single Agency, it is desired to create a single office – „one stop shop”, as a central point of communication with companies interested in investing in Romania as well as the coordination of Romania’s international trade, which will function directly under Prime Minister Nicolae Ciucă.
The new Agency takes over the activities, positions, personnel and assets of the Foreign Investments Directorate, the Export Promotion Tools and Programs Directorate, respectively the Foreign Trade Department, within the Ministry of Entrepreneurship and Tourism.
The management of the Agency will be ensured by a president, with the rank of secretary of state, and a vice president, with the rank of undersecretary of state, both appointed and dismissed by decision of the prime minister.
The newly established agency will take over the positions and staff of the Foreign Investments Directorate, the Export Promotion Tools and Programs Directorate and the Foreign Trade Department within the Ministry of Entrepreneurship and Tourism, as well as the patrimony corresponding to their activity, established on the basis of the financial statements drawn up according to the provisions.
