Romania’s raw milk imports over January – November 2022 totaled 134,714 tons, by 5,965 tons more (+4.6 percent) compared to the year-ago period, shows data released by the National Institute of Statistics (INS), according to Agerpres.
The amount of cow’s milk collected by processing units in the reporting period was 0.2 percent less than in the same period of 2021, at 1.04 million tons.
According to statistical data, there was a drop in the output of dairy products over January 1 – November 30, 2022 compared to the similar period of 2021, as follows: butter – 779 tons less (-7.7 pct), cream – 2,715 tons less (-4.4 pct), milk – 11,118 tons less (-3.2 pct), sour milk (yogurt, drinking yogurt, buttermilk and other similar dairy products) – 6,108 tons less (-3 pct).
Conversely, the cheese production increased by 3,176 tons (+3.5 pct).
