Romania’s path to NATO and European Union integration was also ensured by the professionalism, determination and courage of each of the veterans, Prime Minister Marcel Ciolacu said on Monday.
„Veterans Day in Theaters of Operations reminds us how much Romanians value freedom and the sacrifices made by our soldiers for this and for the defense of the country. On November 11, 2003, the first soldier of the Romanian Army, second lieutenant (postmortem) Iosif-Silviu Fogarasi. In total, in the missions executed in the theaters of operations, 31 heroes sacrificed their lives in the name of Romania, on whose flag each of our soldiers swears. We will always remember their sacrifice,” stated Ciolacu.
The Prime Minister expressed his respect and gratitude for the wounded soldiers, as well as for all those who, through the missions executed far from home, in difficult conditions, acquired the honorable status of veteran of the theaters of operations.
„Romania’s path towards the fulfillment of the objectives of integration into NATO and the European Union was also ensured through the strength of arms, through the professionalism, determination and courage of each of the veterans. Happy birthday, veterans! Happy birthday, Romania!” Ciolacu said with the occasion of Veterans Day in the Theaters of Operations.
