SNGN Romgaz SA posted 3.35 billion lei in net profit last year, up 4.4% compared with the previous year, according to the preliminary consolidated annual report submitted to the Bucharest Stock Exchange (BVB).

In 2024, the company reported a consolidated net profit of 3.2 billion lei.

According to the same source, total revenues of the Romgaz Group increased by 1.96% to 8.71 billion lei, while turnover rose by 1.21% to 8.03 billion lei.

‘The consolidated net profit for 2025, amounting to 3,346.61 million lei, was 4.39% higher, respectively 140.61 million lei more, compared with the previous year,’ the document states.

Total expenses decreased by 1.44% (71.22 million lei), mainly due to lower expenditure on taxes and duties, which fell by 462.12 million lei (-25.30%), as a result of higher volumes of gas delivered at regulated prices.

Revenues from gas sold at regulated prices are exempt from the additional income tax, the reduction of this tax in 2025 compared with 2024 amounting to 434.17 million lei (-36.14%), the company notes.

EBITDA rose by 7.91% to 4.41 billion lei, while EBIT increased by 6.5% to 3.71 billion lei. The net profit margin climbed to 41.7% of turnover, and earnings per share (EPS) stood at 0.87 lei, up 4.39%.

Estimated natural gas production for 2025 was 4.95 billion cubic metres, 0.17% lower than in 2024, while electricity production last year, at 750.1 MWh, declined by 14.8% compared with 2024.

Revenue from natural gas sales increased by 0.28% to 6.92 billion lei, amid a 5.48% rise in the quantity of gas delivered. In 2025, 80.8% of gas was delivered at regulated prices, compared with 55.5% in 2024.

Turnover from electricity sales rose to 382.03 million lei, despite a 15.7% decline in deliveries, while revenue from storage services increased by 10.01% to 562.21 million lei, driven by higher revenues from capacity booking and injection services (+56.12%, as injected volumes were 38.5% higher than in 2024).

As at 31 December 2025, contracted storage capacity stood at 100%, with storage facilities filled to 73.28%.

The number of employees in the Romgaz Group at the end of the period was 5,809, down 2.81% compared with the previous year.

The results presented are preliminary and unaudited, and final figures may differ from those included in the report, the company states.
