The Save Romania Union (USR) demands the resignation of the Minister of Internal Affairs, Lucian Bode, after the Ethics Commission of the Babes-Bolyai University of Cluj-Napoca published the results of the evaluation of his doctoral thesis, according to Agerpres.

„The Ethics Commission of the Babes-Bolyai University confirms what the USR claimed: Lucian Bode plagiarized in his doctoral thesis,” say the representatives of the USR, in a statement sent to AGERPRES.

The President of USR, Catalin Drula, demands Bode’s immediate resignation from the Government or, otherwise, his revocation from the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

„Lucian Bode plagiarized. We have confirmation from the university that gave him the diploma. We are waiting for his resignation from the Government,” wrote Catalin Drul on Facebook.

Babes-Bolyai University of Cluj-Napoca has made public the conclusions of the UBB Ethics Commission’s analysis of the doctoral thesis of the Minister of the Interior, Lucian Bode, finding that there are „a number of deviations from good publishing norms – citation errors and some plagiarized fragments”.

In response, Bode claims that the work „is in order”, „the doctorate awarded in 2019 is maintained”, stating that he will review the errors found.
