The unemployment rate in seasonally adjusted form decreased slightly, to 5.6%, in February this year, compared to the previous month, but the unemployment rate among young people (15-24 years) continues to have a high level of 22,1%, according to the data sent on Wednesday by the National Institute of Statistics (INS).
The unemployment rate for men was 0.8 percentage points higher than for women, the respective values being 6% for men and 5.2% for women.
The number of unemployed (aged 15-74) estimated for February 2024 was 466,400 people, down compared to January (472,000 people) but up compared to the same period of the previous year (444,900 people).
For adults (25-74 years old), the unemployment rate was estimated at 4.5% for February 2024 (4.2% for women and 4.7% for men). The number of unemployed aged 25-74 represented 74.4% of the total number of unemployed estimated for February 2024.
