Supporting pro-European political forces, advancing the European Union integration process, and strengthening the resilience of the Republic of Moldova against hybrid threats were among the topics discussed on Tuesday by Senate President Ilie Bolojan during his meeting with the delegation of the Committee for Foreign Policy and European Integration of the Moldovan Parliament, led by Ina Coseru.
According to a Senate press release, the meeting ‘reconfirmed the excellent level of bilateral relations between Romania and the Republic of Moldova, with an emphasis on parliamentary cooperation and firm support for Chisinau’s European path.’
‘The President of the Senate emphasised that Romania continues its policy of unconditional support for the Republic of Moldova, a policy based on consensus, continuity, and predictability, regardless of Romania’s internal electoral cycles. During the discussions, both sides highlighted shared priorities, such as support for pro-European political forces, progress on EU integration, and the strengthening of Moldova’s resilience to hybrid threats. 2025 is a decisive year for the Republic of Moldova’s European agenda. In this context, Romania supports the adoption of an ambitious EU accession timeline and encourages increased support from the European Union and its member states,’ the release posted on the institution’s website reads.
