Senate President: Reform Package 2 could be finalised this week

Published on

Senate President Mircea Abrudean on Monday said the second package of fiscal-budgetary reforms could be finalised this week, adding that he sees no reason for the governing coalition to break up.

Speaking at the Parliament Palace, he said that discussions are currently underway to align the positions of the parties ‘in order to finalise Package 2 as soon as possible, possibly even this week.’ ‘We’ll see how the discussions evolve,’ Abrudean explained.

‘I don’t believe any party will leave the governing coalition at this time. We have a coalition that was formed only a few months ago, a government programme approved in Parliament by a large majority – a programme that includes all the measures within Package 2 of the reforms,’ the Senate President said.
