Senate President Mircea Abrudean is in favor of a swift solution in the governing coalition regarding the formula to reduce expenditures in central and local administration.
„I haven’t had a discussion on this topic with the prime minister at the group, however, certainly, from what has already been announced, this process will also be in the third package. The demarche is absolutely normal and necessary because, if we are talking about the reform of local public administration, we cannot ignore the central administration reform. Steps have been taken so far towards the reform, but no serious reform has been made. It must be clarified within the coalition what is the final approach,” Abrudean said on Monday, at the Senate.
He explained that Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan disagreed with the option for each mayor to reduce expenses as they see fit.
„After all, mayors have had the opportunity to make voluntary cuts until now. This has happened in some places. Being a man with vast experience in administration, he knows exactly what the procedures are. The correct formula should either be the Prime Minister Bolojan’s initial proposal or a mix between the initial proposal and another variant of expense reductions, so we can reach a compromise within the coalition. I hope this happens as soon as possible,” Mircea Abrudean added. AGERPRES
