Senate Chairman Nicolae Ciuca said on Tuesday, at the inauguration of the first dual education campus in Oradea City, that this is a model to follow.
„We came here not to be thanked, but we came here to give thanks. (…) I would not have succeeded in this project had I not believed in everything that this horizontal collaboration means at the level of local administration, vertically with business operators, the business community and, of course, the support that the Ministry of Education and other government bodies were able to provide, starting from the opportunities that were offered by the availability of European funds and, of course, the contribution from the national budget,” Ciuca said.
He added that he believes in vocational education, showing that vocational education is already the main option for many students.
„I believed very much in what the revival of dual vocational education means. I believe very much in vocational education, there are those children who have opted and it is the first time that the first option for some of the children was this form of education, this institution, namely the dual campus in Oradea. It is also an opportunity for me to emphasise that yesterday, at the beginning of the school year, I participated in the inauguration of an educational establishment similar to the one here, namely the Dual Technical High School in Sebes, so this form of education and infrastructure is multiplying in other counties and is also the result of the skill and understanding of the local administration that collaborate very well with the business community, with the business operators who need so much a very well-trained workforce. Higher added value is achieved through a better qualified workforce, through a better competitiveness of our entire product spectrum.”
According to Ciuca, the campus can also be used for professional retraining.
„What happened here in Oradea is a model to follow, it is a model in terms of horizontal integration, because it offers other similar establishments in the city and county the opportunity to come and carry out certain preparations here. (…) I myself am a graduate of a vocational educational institution and I am not sorry for the decision I made at the age of 14,” Ciuca said.
