The governing coalition will pay special attention to projects initiated by religious denominations, which are „essential partners in building social good,” strengthening the dialogue between the state and the denominations being part of a „natural approach” in any democratic society, Senate President and Liberal leader Nicolae Ciuca wrote on Facebook on Monday, after a meeting with representatives of religious denominations, write Agerpres.
„Strengthening dialogue between the state and denominations is part of a natural approach in any democratic society. I was happy today to meet again with the representatives of the religious denominations in Romania and to continue the collaboration that I have always considered a priority and whose results are measurable today (…). I assured all those present that, together with my colleagues in the governing coalition, we will pay special attention to the projects initiated by religious denominations, essential partners in building social good,” Ciuca said.
He also said that in the face of the challenges of economic and geopolitical dynamics, the education of young people and the ethical dilemmas of technological evolution, „we need the perspective and experience of the denominations to formulate effective responses.” „Whether we are talking about combating youth drug use or responding promptly to hate speech, our solutions must be rooted in shared values such as tolerance and understanding,” concludes Ciuca.
