Senate’s Ciuca, Ursula von der Leyen talk on essential topics for Romania in unplanned meeting

The President of the Senate, Nicolae Ciuca, had an „unplanned” meeting on Wednesday, at Chisinau airport, with the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, and the discussions between the two officials were aimed at supporting Moldova on the way European and energy security cooperation.

„Today, in an unplanned meeting at Chisinau airport, I had the pleasure of talking with Ursula von der Leyen, the president of the European Commission. Although it was a short discussion, we managed to touch on essential topics for Romania and the region, such as Moldova’s support on the European road and cooperation in energy security. Such moments remind us how important dialogue and solid partnerships with the EU are”, Ciuca wrote on Facebook.

Nicolae Ciuca was in Chisinau on Wednesday, on which occasion he had a meeting with the President of the Republic of Moldova, Maia Sandu.
