Romanian Senate Chairman Nicolae Ciuca, sent on Thursday, July 4, a message on the Independence Day of the United States of America, in which he says that this day „is also a celebration of freedom and democracy.”

„I want to convey today to our American friends and partners wishes for prosperity and happiness, as the founders of the United States wrote in the Declaration of Independence of July 4, 1776. This day is also a celebration of freedom and democracy, basic principles of the free world to which Romania returned more than three decades ago,” Ciuca wrote in a social media post.

He added that the US is a strategic partner of great importance to Romania, with which it has in-depth relations in all areas – from business to diplomacy and from culture to defence.

„Let us join our American friends on the 248th anniversary of independence in spirit. Happy 4th of July!” Ciuca also wrote.
