Transport Minister Ciprian Şerban signed three funding agreements on Thursday with the Romanian Intelligence Service, the Special Telecommunications Service, and the Protection and Security Service; the investments are aimed at purchasing electric vehicles and developing charging infrastructure.
"Today, I signed three financing agreements with the Romanian Intelligence Service, the Special Telecommunications Service, and the Protection and Guard Service. The investments, fully funded by the Modernization Fund, are aimed at purchasing electric vehicles and developing charging infrastructure. The decarbonization of transportation must start with the government. "We cannot ask the private sector to accelerate the transition if public institutions do not set an example," the minister wrote on his Facebook page.
According to him, the projects will significantly reduce CO2 emissions, lower operating costs, and increase energy independence.
"In the current context, security and sustainability are closely linked, and investments in clean mobility are a strategic priority. We will continue to use the Modernization Fund for investments aimed at creating a cleaner, more efficient, and sustainable transportation system," the Minister of Transport stated.
