Silviu Vexler: Over 100 civilians still held captive by terrorist organizations

Deputy Silviu Vexler, president of the Federation of Jewish Communities in Romania, recalled, in the plenary session of the Chamber of Deputies, that a year had passed since the Hamas attacks against Israel, thanking the Romanian authorities for the gestures of solidarity and friendship that were shown without reservations.

„Today marks one year since the attack by the terrorist organization Hamas against the civilian population of the State of Israel, a year that was marked not only by the pain and suffering of those there, but also by a continuous struggle for justice and the State of Israel’s own defense. Currently, there are still more than 100 civilians who are captives, who are hostages of those terrorist organizations, held in some terrible conditions. It is also a moment when, together with all the Jewish communities in Romania, we wanted to say thank you to Romania and the Romanian Parliament, together with the Romanian Government, for the gestures of solidarity and friendship that were shown without reservation. I assure you that they will never be forgotten,” declared Silviu Vexler in the Chamber of Deputies plenary.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs recalled, on Monday, that the terrorist attack by Hamas against the State of Israel resulted in more than 1,100 civilian casualties and more than 250 people kidnapped and held captive in the Gaza Strip.
