Since June 3, 76 cases of West Nile virus infection, 10 deaths in Romania

The National Public Health Institute (INSP) has reported that between the beginning of the surveillance period of West Nile virus infection on June 3 and Thursday, October 3, 76 cases of West Nile virus infection were recorded in Romania, including 68 confirmed and eight probable.

According to INSP, ten deaths from West Nile virus infection were reported.

Most of the cases – 23 – were recorded in the age group 70 – 79 years and 21 in people aged between 60 and 69 years.
