Published on

Several people from Nepal, Bangladesh, India and Egypt, who did not have the right to travel in the Schengen Area, were found on Thursday in a truck stopped by authorities during a routine check on the A1 motorway, near Nadlac.

„Border police officers from the Nadlac Border Police Sector conducted random and unsystematic checks on the A1 Deva – Nadlac highway. During these checks, a Romanian-registered truck, driven by a Romanian citizen, was stopped for inspection. Following the inspection of the vehicle, six foreign nationals were discovered hidden in the truck’s trailer,” reported the Arad Border Police.

Upon further checks, it was found that these six individuals were from Nepal, Bangladesh, India, and Egypt, aged between 19 and 35. They did not have the right to travel in the Schengen Area and are being investigated for attempting to illegally cross the state border and for illegal border crossing.

The Romanian driver is under investigation for migrant trafficking.
